Without knowing all the facts, this story still bothers me on so many levels. First and foremost, a child is dead, then there’s the issue of blacks coming together to protest, demand justice and show great anger over a black child being killed by a white man. This bothered me because young blacks are killed more frequently by other blacks, and when this happens blacks disperse, ignore it, hide it or displace blame. Unfortunately, we have too many cases of black on black homicides which proves this to be true. Just looking at the huge crowds and seeing all the black faces showing so much anger and pain, makes me ask, where was this taking to the streets, fist pumping, call to action when scores of our black children were(are) slain by those who skin color just so happen to be the same? I’m sure those who are getting in front of the TV cameras and voicing their anger will show that same anger toward the many young blacks lives lost due to black on black violence. I’m sure congressman shelia jackson lee, jesse jackson, al sharpton, the black panthers, spike lee (No respect from me, no capital letters), and the other so-called black leaders are already reserving their spaces for the next call to action due to the death of the next black child killed by a bullet from a black gang member or drug dealers gun. Or is it that blacks hold a special privilege on killing other blacks, just as blacks hold privilege on saying the “N” word.
