1/2 Of Security Deposit Withheld

Postby perceval21 » Sun Jun 08, 2014 7:25 pm

Our issue entails a safety deposit within the State-Of: Boston<br />
I'm transferring on March 15th. I offered my notice on February 1st. Our landlord claims easily spend her 1/2 a weeks lease for March she may maintain 1/2 of my safety deposit since I will not be there for your month. May she do that? Additionally, she never offered me the consideration # for that safety deposit. She showed me the guide and that I understand the financial institution, but I do not possess the acct #. Additionally, after I shifted in we never did a declaration of situation. Does she have any grounds-keeping 1/2 my safety deposit and certainly will I really need my entire deposit back since I never had the acct #? Thanks

To terminate a tenancy at will, you must ordinarily give notice equal to the amount of time between rent payments. So if you paid rent monthly, and gave notice on February 1 that you were moving out, your tenancy would end on March 1.
