I'm a firm believer in keeping both our borders and our national identity (those with lineage to the Untied States) secure and safe, as well as implementing all immigration laws, but what are the alternatives to the 14th amendment? There have been many politicians as well as commentators who support altering the 14th amendment, a few supportive of abolishing it, and I haven't found any alternative to how the American government will distinguish between a citizen and a non-citizen.

It doesn't matter, the government passed the National Defense Authorization Act, which undermines the constitution completely.
