1999 Vw Passat Harness Wiring Issues

Postby Waite » Wed May 14, 2014 11:05 am

Welcome discussions from consumers who have experienced issues with VW for their 1999 Passat vehicles.I purchased a resale from a smaller lot in metropolitan Ft Lauderdale while on holiday break December 2005.
I have driven about 3,000.
Brought the car in for an oil change and it wouldnt start.
I had it towed to a VW dealership in Gainesville where the saga begins.Bottom line the original diagnosis was ECM and ABS, neither of which was coverd on the extended warranty I purchased.
VW of American took care of the ECM as the vehicle was under 80,000 miles. When they went to replace the ABS they discovered a$5,000 repair for harness wiring that needs to be hand-made in Germany once I give the go ahead toabsorb the cost AND it will take 4 to 6 weeks.Neither the VW dealership nor the extended warranty company, nor the place I purchased the vehicle will provide me with transportation during the process. All this activity began during final exams.
I am stressed out and need direction. Any suggestions

Yes, rent or borrow a car, take the bus, rely on friends.Be thankful you don't have to pay the 5000 for the rewiring.Life is stressful even in the best of circumstances. Toughen up.

Ok...I am getting the identical issue at this time using the identical vehicle! Was the ECM included under your warranty that you simply bought? Or is the fact that something which VW simply addresses? They cited me a cost of 00 today and that Iam having a coronary attack. Any help you can supply could be fantastic!!
