Are my HIDA scan with CCK results low enough to need surgery for my gallbladder?

Postby morcan » Thu Mar 29, 2012 7:31 am

For years I have been struggling with diarrhea and sensitivity to foods. It has gotten worse over time especially after I had my daughter. I have had and upper endoscopy, a colonoscopy, an ultrasound if my gallbladder, and now a HIDA scan with CCK. The results of my HIDA show 37% which is considered to be normal bc it is above 35%. My question is I'm always having stomach pain and get sick to my stomach a lot. Have pain in my right side under my ribs and get shooting pain in my right shoulder. I'm afraid to eat bc I don't wanna get sick and it sometimes makes me miss class/work. I'm at my wits end and I feel like I'm never going to get better. Could this still be my gallbladder and should I pursue action to get surgery for it? I don't know what else to do.

Did the CCK reproduce your symptoms? If so, you likely can get a surgeon to cut it out on that basis.
