Florida is passing a law for food stamp applicants to pay for their drug test, if they pass, they will receive benefits and be reimbursed for test. If they don't pass they will not be eligible at all.

I see their point, but most people have children. Don't they know that if they do this, the children who are already being abused in many ways from neglect, etc. will also be starving? It will happen, so I feel like this is the wrong thing to do.

nope.
you cannot fathom how much welfare , medicare, ebt, snap, bridge cards , etc are abused. and are given to illegals.
Regardless if there are minor involved.
I say the government should hire people to just to investigate every claim.

If I have to take a drug test to get a job then people who receive welfare in any form such as EBT, WIC, Medicaid or any other program should be subjected to them as well. These are voluntary programs that are meant as a crutch and if you are abusing drugs you should not receive government aid.

I think it's the right thing to do. The children starving is a liberal emotion based argument. In reality, we need to take care of the kids, in that situation, not the parents. We have child protective services for that. We don't need to be giving hand-outs to drug users. People who work have to take drug tests, so should people who receive free money.

Its a good idea in theory but I think that it will probably cost a lot of money to do this. They pay for their own test but who pays to have it confirmed. How often would they test these people. Once a month, every six months, every year. There's just to much that could go wrong.
