Bad Cpa

s About Taxes)/BAD CPA Advertisement Expert: John Stancil, CPA - 9/10/2007 It has been brought to my attention(May 2007) by IRS that I owe $4000.00 from yr. 2005. I contacted the CPA in reguards to this, he has been avoiding me and telling me he sent the paperwork to the IRS to reslove the issue. I have called the IRS today 9/10/07, to see if they received the paperwork,they have not. I am going to another firm to have his work reveiwed. In the meantime I looked up his CPA License/ it expired 9/30/1994. Do I have any recourse legally with this person, he made me think he was a CPA!!!!  When he wasnt!!!! I am VERY UPSET about this , do I contact a Lawyer for fraud?????? Thanks for your help.

You should contact the state board of accountancy and report this person.  In addition, you should contact an attorney about any legal recourse you may have against him.
