Becoming a Law in the US?

Postby caelin » Thu Apr 07, 2011 8:10 pm

I'm from Canada and I want to become a criminal lawyer in the US (California).
Do I have to take science + math? In Canada, it doesn't really matter was degrees you have, they accept everyone if you pass the test. Is that the same with the US?

Becoming a Law in the US?

If you come here for an undergraduate degree then yes all colleges have a certain math and science requirement that needs to be filled. If you are coming directly to law school it depends on what classes you take and the school you go to. My school has an environmental focus where the students take law and environmental science classes. Others have focuses on finance and law. As for what degree you have it depends on the school, some schools are more liberal when it comes to the degree you have. Many students have degrees in history, political science, government, psychology, accounting, finance, philosophy, subjects like that, with philosophy, political science and history being the major ones at least in my experience.

You'd probably have to take the entire legal classes in the US.
