Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key"

also when I turn it on, there is an another error, but I don't get them both in the same time

Can anyone tell me what's wrong with my laptop?

Thanks for your help

Boot error on my laptop..........?

It ain't rocket science here Forest. It's only a month old, if you tamper with it you void the warranty. A tad bit of common sense should tell you to send it in for repairs duh. That is unless you left a disk in the CD/DVD drive.

Boot error on my laptop..........?

Postby calin » Sun May 06, 2012 10:55 am

Boot up with the WinXP CD in the drive, and go to the Recovery Console. At the command prompt, type "Fixboot", then type "Fixmbr", then "Bootcfg /rebuild" all without the quotes.

Check BIOS for "Onboard Raid Enable" Is enabled then your computer is looking for a RAID configuration. Disable it.

Do you have an external drive? Is so turn it off and change the boot order in the BIOS to make the External drive come after the hard drive and maybe even make the hard drive the first device to boot!!

Boot error on my laptop..........?

Postby ahanu » Sun May 06, 2012 11:05 am

This is a bios misconfig. Dell bios is F2 and you need to change the boot order to hdd first. The error above is the computer trying to boot off the network is all no big deal just change it. If the hard drive is the first on the boot list then there is a problem with the drive and its time to take it back.

it may the harddisk problem so first check properly your harddisk that it is working or not if harddisk is ok then that is the operating system problem so reinstall the operating system.
