Brief Second Marriage And Spousal Support

Brief Second Marriage And Spousal Support

Postby Casnar » Fri Feb 07, 2014 10:41 am

I got married about a few months before in Arizona.  Sadly we're not as suitable as thought.  There's not been any abuse or adultery within the marriage, but way too many disagreements.  I've chose to get out.  Although she's requested, I've not consented to find any guidance or treatment - no stage...  We were both formerly in long relationships and have our very own kids, but there are no custody problems within our present marriage.  Furthermore we've no actual combined home to divide.  From her past marriage she'd been obtaining $1K monthly in spousal support for life.  Clearly whenever we got married that was stopped.  Although there's a significant delta within our earnings, there's not been a significant lifestyle change for her.  She's wanted some legal advice, and thinks she might be eligible to around ten years of spousal support from me to pay for her lost alimony income.  I'll consult legal advice, but this appears totally unreasonable.  She's healthy to function and still keeps child support from her prior marriage.  May or might that "lost revenue" be considered a element in our breakup?

Short Second Marriage And Spousal Support

I do not notice an annulment as appropriate nor fault or no fault as highly relevant to any honor of support. Nobody here can tell you exactly what a courtroom will or will not do.  Several elements are taken into account and although it appears improbable that you might be accountable for any long haul support, we do not understand the revenue difference between your two of you and whether she'd be again eligible for support in the preceding marriage.

Short Second Marriage And Spousal Support

I agree to consult an attorney.  I do not know about AZ as I am in CT, but protect yourself from inheriting the $1K per month lifetime spousal support. I would think her attorney would aggressively go for that!
