Can I be suspended from work?

I got hurt on the job over a year ago. This past week, I had to call in due to pain resulting from that same injury. The injury is on file with my employer, as well as worker's compensation. Because the doctor's office did not fax in the excuse before payroll was finalized, I'm being faced with a two day suspension from work. Can my employer do this?

Yes, although if the doctor's office does fax that in, even if it's late, you should ask that suspension to be repealed.
