Can I Give A 7-day Eviction Notice To My Roommate In Colorado? (he Is Not On The Lease)

Postby Sandro » Sat Jun 14, 2014 11:23 am

I signed an agreement with the Managed Complex. I have an extra room. This guy is a mess and impossible to live with. He moved in in mid-February and paid rent for the rest of the month. He told me on March 4th that from now on he is going to pay rent WEEKLY(without discussing this first). Now he is late this week. He does not have money. Plus all his habits(smoking inside when Im not here, eating my food, not cleaning, etc). Can I give him a 7-day leaving/eviction notice in Colorado

Where a problem arises in a roommate situation, eviction of one or more roommates can be done by the landlord. The landlord can serve the tenant by posting a three day notice(summons and complaint) on the premises or by leaving a copy with a resident in the household over the age of 18. In addition, the landlord must send the summons and complaint in the mail the following day. If service is by posting, a copy must be mailed the next day. Where confusion exists regarding legal rights and responsibilities by any of the roommates, legal advice should by sought.   foxmajik 33 months ago http://www.rentlaw.com/eviction/coeviction.htm
