Can you recieve back pay from Army retirement pay?

I was medically separated in 2007, years later I was told that I should have had a higher disability. So I joined the class action lawsuit and was informed that my rating didnt change but they found it necessary to retire me. Now with that being said does that entitle me to any type of back pay because I was originally separated in Apr 2007 and I am to recieve my first retirement check on June 1st, 2010. Thanks for any help or information anyone can give me. Last time I called DFAS a lady hung up on me.

Yea I have had a wonderful time calling them. If it seems you should get any back pay, you probably wont. Have U called anyone in the VA? Have you asked for help at the local VFW, Amvets or American Legion? I had a couple of good suggestions on handling my disability. I go to the VA rep in the Tamps VA hospital. But I am sorry to say the DFAS may be the only one that could tell you. Sorry not much but I hope it gives you some ideas. Good luck.

Thanks I did call the VA and guess what...they had no clue, lol...but I did recall DFAS and they said that they were working on my case to see if I qualify for a retro pay, which I am sure is highly likely considering that I am recieving retirement pay and my retirement date was 4/24/2007. we'll see

Go through the VA.
