Chapter 13/new Furnace

Postby Chansomps » Thu Jun 05, 2014 1:25 am

I reside in Indiana. I am in my 2nd year of my chapter 13. My furnace went out, repairman told me it was shot and that I need a new one. How can I get a furnace when I have no money, no credit cards, etc?  It is still winter here and I don't know where to turn.

You can finance one, but you need to bring a motion in bankruptcy court to allow you to finance it.  Attach the proposed terms, and if reasonable, and affordable, then the court/trustee should allow it.  You will need to find the lender willing to finance you though.
