Child Is Born During Military Deployment - How To Put Dad's Name On Birth Certificate

In some states an unmarried woman can not list any father on the birth certificate, the father can subsequently "legitimize" the child by an amendment.
Some states will let a woman just declare who the father is.
As Doggie points out, it matters which state you're talking about.
