China's laborers are starting to ask for better wages and working conditions. Any lesson for conservatives?

My Union took us out on strike for 56 days, what we got for that was less than the Company's last best offer. We went out to feed the ego of the Union bosses. The UAW has one of the strongest unions in the Country, its membership has lost their jobs to right to work states. Tell me what good unions are doing in the modern world. I would rather have a job, than sit on either unemployment or welfare, which is all liberals seem to promise. Being dependent on handouts is not a way i want to go.

I could have told you this was coming. This is simple business management and sociological development.

Do you want to know the rest of the story? Here's how it all works out.

China and India's workers have been getting more pay as jobs were outsourced to them. Their labor was cheaper than what was reasonable in America. As they got more capital and resources the laborers thought they should be paid more and now they're forming unions. Meanwhile, our workforce is not as competitive because of high labor costs (thanks to unions). However, when unemployment gets worse Americans will finally start to take jobs for lower pay just so they can have a job. As China and India's workforce demands more money/benefits they'll see an eager workforce in America who will do the job for far less than what they would have a few years ago. Also, India and China will start to outsource jobs to Bangladesh because labor in the region is cheapest there.

It's called the invisible hand. Americans outpriced their labor market thanks to unions. The jobs went overseas because businesses have a fiduciary requirement to maximize profits. As unemployment rises people will become desperate and do the job for a lower price and jobs/capital will come back into the US. The downside is it will take years for this to happen again.

Unions had a place a 100 years ago. However they became too powerful, too corrupt, and too greedy. I believe employees should have a collective bargaining unit but todays unions are the not the way to accomplish that goal.
