Class action Lawsuit for Yaz?

Postby hussein » Sun Apr 10, 2011 7:30 am

I'm involved in the class action lawsuit for Yaz borth control because I had gotten Gallbladder Disease while on it...I am wondering if anyone is familar with these kind of lawsuits and if so if anyone knows around how much is actually given out to each individual...(as in money) the reason I am asking is because for me this involves endless paperwork, running all around for proof of documents and also for me to make never ending calls to a few different states, and Im wanting to know around how much is given out so if I know if it is even worth my time...all answers welcome, thank you!

Class action Lawsuit for Yaz?

It often depends on how many other people are involved, as well as the resulting settlement.

If the settlement is $1 million, and there are 1 million people involved in the lawsuit, it's likely each person would get about 25 cents, after all of the legal fees were paid out. I recently got paperwork regarding a class action suit I had the option to get involved in...when I read through the fine print, they said the law firms involved would get some $1.5 million, and the plaintiffs would each get one year of free online credit monitoring. There was never any intent to get money back to the plaintiffs...just the law firms.

It's fairly common that plaintiffs in class action suits don't really get much in the long run. Often, the intent is to punish the corporation, as opposed to actually getting something fixed.

If you truly believe that Yaz caused the gallbladder disease, you're probably best off finding a lawyer and filing suit on your own.

You might get enough to go out to dinner.
Class action suits take years till they are settled. Once they are,it wasn't worth the work involved, except of course for the lawyers. They are the ones that get the big bucks, not the plaintiffs.
