Condominium Home owners rights Washington State?

Condominium Home owners rights Washington State?

Postby dubh35 » Sat Apr 07, 2012 4:36 am

I bought a condominium in Washington State, under the premise that I could rent it. The Home Owners association subsequent passed a rule that only owners after a certain date could continue to rent it. Since then they have changed the rules and I would like to know what rights they are violating on me as the property owner to not be able to rent it if I so choose. It seems they are changing the rules as they go along and sooner or later I want to make it known to them that they have no rights to forbid me to rent my property which I continue to pay for, and that they have no rights to forbid me to rent it if I chose to do so. Anyone know the laws that I can dispute their actions with?

Sorry for you, but that is what HOA's do. Read your bylaws for clarification, and you will discover that those bylaws clearly indicate that the board can change those rules as it sees fit. This is something you should have read BEFORE you purchased the property.
