Do lawyers ever contribute anything good to society?

OJ Simpson being let off the hook even though it is pretty obvious he killed his wife...he just i dunno hired a really expensive, really good attorney to do this

what about all those engineering companies that have to spend extra money to prevent lawsuits over patent/innovation infringement instead of spending that same money to create new technologies

what about those malpractice attorneys who sue doctors for everything they do to the point that it drives up the costs of healthcare for the average American and in some cases prevents poorer americans from affording healthcare treatment

or those scummy attorneys who love it every time someone gets injured and hands the person in an ambulance his or her contact card whenever that terrible event happens

The only problem in our justice system is you can defend murder with bogus claims, such as insanity or retardation. In our system everyone has rights but the victim.

Asking a question with these kinds of accusations is like asking if the president ever helps U.S. citizens. Of course there have been bad presidents... but there has been very good ones to. The first thing you have to understand is that attorneys come in different practices. Some dedicate their entire career to do things like fight for churches attacked by people who disagree with their religion. Some sit there and write out contracts for companies trading with other companies. Some are dedicated to one specific type of crime, and defending people wrongfully accused. It all depends on what their specialty is and what they've decided to do. Some people are just bad and greedy and that comes with all types of different jobs, some lawyers are absolutely fantastic people. Just depends on them.

If you ever have any legal problem in future you'll have a chance to find out how lawyer contributes to you and society in general. In every profession there are malicious people who make whole branch look bad, but that doesn't necessarily mean everyone is like them.
