Does my husband bankruptcy affect me?

we just moved from a non community state to community state.my husband want to file for an individual bankruptcy and according to the law he has to file it under previous state law .i want to know does it affect me just because we live in a community state?all our debt is on his name and i am stay at home mom.

Any credit cards, or any loans that you're the co-signer on, you will become responsible for.

Yep, especially if you're married.. You are considered associated with his financial status as well. Just like if a woman is a window or her husband passed away retired she'll receive payments..

It depends. What do you mean when you say "affect" you?

you better read the fine print of any credit contract he signed some have a clause that even though its in one persons name if that person is married it affects the spouse also
