Does your family still talk to your ex or do you still talk to their ex?

Postby shipley » Tue Mar 13, 2012 10:20 pm

Ok well my brother's wife absolutely refuses to go to my sister's oldest son's 4th birthday party because my brother's ex girlfriend is coming. I think she is extremely selfish and childish. She wont let my brother or their 2 boys go. My brother and his ex broke up 6 years ago. They dated for about 5 years I think and 4 of those years and for a year after they broke up she lived with me, my parents, and my brother. I think of her as a sister and so does my sister. My parents call her their foster daughter. In fact not long after she moved in my parents even considered adopting her but thought it would be too weird since she was dating my brother. She moved to another state about 4 years ago, I haven't seen her since, she's married now and has a kid. She moved back a few weeks ago, but due to busy schedules I haven't seen her yet and am really looking forward to spending time with her and her family at the party. My brother's wife moved in with us a few months before they broke up. A year later their oldest son was born and since then they moved out got married and had another kid. I usually only get to see my brother and his family on birthdays and holidays, I get their oldest son once a month for the weekend, but I haven't seen my brother or their youngest since Christmas and I really look forward to seeing them at these party's. Now my sister in law is refusing to go or let her kids go so if they end up not going I probably wont see them again until August or September. It's not fair to anybody. I know my parents miss seeing them and her kids love playing with their cousins. Her oldest is always asking to see them. My brother is okay with going he said it'd be a bit awkward at first, but it would be fine he doesn't care.
