Emancipation And Social Protection

Postby Washington » Sun Jan 19, 2014 12:00 am

My dilemma needs emancipation regulations for their State of: Texas
I am a widowed mother-of 3 and my oldest daughter is probably to be 16 in Aug. I've browse the regulation with regards to emancipation in Fl but I'm unclear on if he'd be entilted to the verify I get for him till heis 18.
Obtaining said that, this truly is my situation
Simply petitioned for my soon-to-be 16-year old boy to grow to be emancipated and the judge decided, could then he get the social safety verify that, at the moment, is available in my name for him?
I'd assume not given that it would defeat the objective of becoming self-supporting.
I'd tremendously appreciate any aid.
Thanks!
Thanks for your answer and while it's apprreciated, does not appear correct or fair to me.
How could it be reasonable that no body can get his check after I however have two small children that are eligible for these survior benifits too?
Thank you.
You'd however get survivor benefits for that additional two.

SS heiris benfits finish at age 18, or legal emancipation, whatever occurs first.
You actually do not have a great deal to be worried about, there's merely a small number of emancipation applications which are given each year in FL.
Our late brother's girlfriend went into this same scenario when my oldest neice committed at age 17, the SS check ceased, but she still received younger kids' benefits.

If he is emancipated, no one gets the check.

Thank you for your answer and while it is apprreciated, doesn't seem right or fair to me.

How is it fair that no one will get his check when I still have two minor children that are entitled to those survior benifits as well?

Thank you.
