Ex-smokers, How Do You Deal With Your "breaks" At Work Now That You Don't Go Out And Smoke?

Postby Bryceton » Fri Mar 04, 2016 9:18 pm

How do you deal with your breaks now that you don?t smoke? One thing that kept me going throughout the day was plugging along and then looking forward to my break so I can go outside and puff? I can see when the weather is nice, going for a walk to take my mind off of it, but in winter, how do I beat that mental struggle of just stepping out to smoke to get away from the stress of the office, even for just a few minutes?

Ex-smokers, How Do You Deal With Your "breaks" At Work Now That You Don't Go Out And Smoke?

It is a long tough battle that I just went through It really is a hard battle and I just went through it(although at school, not work) I have 3+ hour classes though that have breaks, and it is hard to not go out for that standard cigarette break that I am acoustomed to. I started by chewing gum, but that didn't really do the trick. As funny as it sounds, the best thing that got my mind off of it was typing very fast. My new routine is to reply to a few emails during my breaks. I get typing very fast and it has a funny way of taking my mind off of the cigarette. By the end of my typing I have lost that crave. Hope something similar can work for you! Keep up the good fight! Sources: personal opinion msujrod 97 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment. Please verify your account to give a compliment. Go outside away from smoke and smokers and walk try to think of deeply breathing fresh air hopefully calming down your stress. Avoid things that make you want to go back to smoking, with me it was sitting drinking coffee that was tough so I had to break lots of old habits. The first three days were hardest, then three weeks, three months by end of six months I knew I had won.
