Getting A Patent For Skincare Products

Postby Steve » Wed Jun 11, 2014 12:02 pm

Hi!  This is my first time using this site.  I have developed some natural skincare products that I would like to start selling.  I'd like to find out whether I should get a patent on the products to keep others from copying them.  I don't know what the process is or whether it's necessary in this case.

Any advice or insight would be very helpful!

Best regards,

Yamilee

Getting A Patent For Skincare Products

Hi Yamilee - Good for you!  First off you should do really consider a patent for your formula.  What that will do is protect your formula from copycats.  Go to http://www.uspto.gov/main/patents.htm for more information about patents.

As you learn more you are going to have MANY more questions, so please feel free to ask me anything!  I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Also, NEVER go to an invention submission company!!!  Most of them are scams and will charge you $10,000 for doing a miniscule amount of work that you can do yourself!  Just a word to the wise.
