Anything you wish you had considered or known before someone came to your family? We have had a live-out nanny for years, still mulling over the idea of having someone live in our house.

ya cause you dont want your husband going after her, thats what a lot of those girls do so they can become permant residents of the U.S. they take your husband and have him marry her, leave you high and dry with the kids and no money.

Here are some tips: *Make sure you have enough private spaces for the aupair and you and your spouse, so everyone has privacy. *Have expectations and houserules written down before he/she arrives so that you can clearly explain how you want your children cared for, and also your expectations for your aupair. *Give him/her freedom, but expect them to inform you(and would your spouse or another adult living in your home) if they won't be there for dinner, or another meal. *Enjoy sharing your culture with the aupair and encourage him/her to share their culture with you.*If the aupair does something you disagree with, sit down and explain to them how you want things done differently and why.Shirley Cress Dudley, MA LPCBlended and Step Family Experthttp://www.TheBlendedandStepFamilyResourceCenter.com 49 months ago
