How would you fix health care? We know obamacare is a failure?

Here is my plan

-Eliminate medicare and medicaid completely. I'd eliminate the Department of Health and Human services to ensure this.
These programs just gurantee money to doctors/hospitals/etc. for providing care regardless of quality thus they just increase prices. Take away the gurantees the prices come down.

-I would eliminate the F.D.A. and all regulations on drugs.
They just cause company to go through extremely costly testing of drugs that still barely work and pass on the tab to consumers

-I would eliminate as many torts regarding medical malpractice as possible.
This just causes doctors to go through as much unnecessary testing as possible increasing the price of medical care.

-Byproduct: I would switch to a flat consumption tax from our current income tax so people would have money to spend on Health Insurance without all the distortions form different tax breaks.

So you'd eliminate the FDA and drug regulations/testing? Are you trying to kill Americans?

How do you know its a failure when most of it has not been implemented? I guess I can't be surprised because this is the technique you guys have been using for quite some time....

How do you know if a policy has failed if it was filibustered?
You guys crack me up!

Drop all government mandated coverage so that people could buy just the coverages they want.

Allow the purchase of insurance across state lines. This increases competition amd lowers prices.

Allow people to put money in tax free health savings accounts.

Allow for people to form pools. This would cut the costs of people who do not get health insurance from their work. This would even cut the costs of those with pre-existing conditions.

Tort reform. If you sue someone and you lose you pay all court costs. This would cut down on frivolous law suits which would bring down the doctors costs and ultimately the amount you pay.

Instead of forcing people to buy insurance, we should force drug companies to invent cures instead of treatments. That would reform actual health care.

Actually if you were going to eliminate one of the two medical health plans that there are, it should be medicaid not medicare. Medicaid is an HMO that pays the primary doctor regardless if the patient is being seen or not and the doctor has the authority to deny referrals, thus not giving the quality of care that should be given, since they are getting government money regardless. Medicare on the other hand, is much like regular health care insurance. You are free to choose your own doctor and medicare only pays upon services rendered.

I'd replace it with the Republican health care plan of 1993. I'm sure since it came from the Republicans, the same plan would work great, while it wouldn't work as long as you call it "Obamacare".

dear american friend, let us begin by looking at history. as we evolve as a species things are becoming more and more complicated. example--first airplane flight was 20 seconds or so--now we can go to the moon and back. these are good things--yes. so our government must continue to evolve and yes--grow more complicated to better serve us all. so no i wouldn't stop government agencies. businesses and corporations are becoming more and more complicated--as they should--they have brains too. thus--government should evolve also. how simple minded to feel that gov should be perfect. all parties need to continually improve their mission whether in government or the
private sector. stop letting politicians get you to vote against your self interest. someone has convinced you that obamacare has failed--it isn't even fully started yet. yes i would pay higher taxes for programs.
