I have a spine injury and have had back surgery. I have been denied benefits and need a good lawyer(not out of the yellow pages) and I don't know where to start.

This is the National Organization of Social Security Claimant's Representatives.  Its composed of Lawyers who only represent Claimant's and keeps them up-to-date on developments in Washing concerning Social Security Law, what's happening in the various regions and so on.  You should be able to identify a lawyer who is near you're location, and you can be sure you will be getting a competent specialist. There are all kinds of factors affecting eligibility such as your age, your education, you past vocational history, all in addition to your disability itself.  It is also important that you are able to document your eligibility medically.
