My lease is through the end of May this year, but as of the beginning of January, they've already started showing my apartment. They asked if I was interested in renewing my lease, but didn't give me a date to tell them yes or no. Recently while showing my place to prospective tenants, they informed me that if we don't renew before someone decides they want to rent it (beginning June this year), that we'd be SOL.
I've been looking online at Tenant Rights for Colorado specifically, but have been unable to find any information regarding this issue.
Obviously I could ask them what time frame they're supposed to give a tenant, but the landlord/property management has already broken, on several accounts, the state law requiring giving tenants notice before entering a property (unless for emergency).
The obvious answer is "who cares? You should move out, why rent from that landlord." I just want to know my rights, if any, on this issue.
