Is it okay to be down on yourself after getting a speeding ticket?

I have had my license for 10 years now and have had 2 speeding tickets in my life. Just got the 2nd one yesterday for going 47 in a 35. I was going down a cut-through road at 9PM on a Tuesday night with hardly any traffic going on and there was a cop hiding between two parked cars in a parking lot. It was not even 5 minutes from my house and I get pulled over and ticketed. I had none on my record because my last ticket was in 2006.

If I get another speeding ticket in the next 10 months, my license will probably get suspended. I feel like I have to drive paranoid now and worried if I'll get another ticket. I have no idea what to do or how to handle this, but I am really really feeling down right now. People go 12 over all the time and never get pulled over. I feel like cops hate me.

dude...you can't maintain a speed within 5 miles of the limit? I know my car's GPS has a function that alerts me if I'm going over the speed limit...maybe you should invest in one of those (it's not expensive...it's an external GPS not a built in). You can also get a radar detector.

A good rule of thumb is if you have to speed never go above 5 miles an hour over the limit.

It's start up profiling you based on race. Know the rules of the game so you can legally @#$% them back. There's a price one pays by breaking the rules. I'm from a military army town. I see douche bags speed all the time. I'm guilty of this when I need to fly. Some days. "I just feel the need for speed."

Why would your license get suspended if you get another ticket w/in 10 months esp since the other one is off your record? That's not how it works.

http://www.criminallawyerillinois.com/2010/02/25/how-many-traffic-tickets-can-i-get-before-my-illinois-drivers-license-is-suspended/

Of course you will feel sorrow & guilt... just be very consciencious... this ticketing has you doing that already.

Sorry to hear. Obey the laws... and if an officer makes an unjust call when you're innocent, deal with that if it comes up. Don't worry about the what ifs.... we could all play that game all day long.

Best to you! {hug!} =)

added: thinking about some "what ifs" do keep you safe & cautious, tho... & for the cases of unjust bulliers, harassers, & stalkers... when they have unjustly attacked when you were innocent, that's a mental (walk on egg shells) type of grievance that you have to try not to think about (like when/what are they gonna do next)...
