Judgement Before Bankruptcy

Postby Matunaagd » Fri Apr 18, 2014 11:39 am

I am from utah and I declared chapter 7 in 2005.
There were 2 outstanding judgements and I claimed those in my bankruptcy.
Is there anything I can do with the credit bureau's to get those judgements off my record? Also how long will those judgements remain on the credit reports

Consult with the bankruptcy attorney who filed your Ch 7.
My understanding is that the judgements SHOULD have been discharged with your bankruptcy, but I'm not an attorney and am not current on the new law.

Old credit card debts, or judgments from those debts, should be dischargeable. The credit reporting agencies don't have to remove the judgments from your credit history, but if it hasn't happened yet the entries should be updated to reflect the discharge.

The judgments are showing as being current obligations, unaffected by the bankruptcy? What are the judgments from (e.g., child support, student loans, etc.)?

They're aged credit card debt. I'd to get bankruptcy when my spouse had brain surgery. Thanks so greatly for answering my concerns. It's therefore very useful. I suppose that I'll need to contact and pay them down in funds. The two conclusions complete about 00.00. It's preventing me from obtaining any loans. I believed the bankruptcy superceeded the conclusions, imagine they don't.
