Law. Medical malpractice consists of personal injury lawyers using doctors as expert witnesses to prove their case.

Your best bet would be to research a firm that does medical malpractice and look at the qualifications of the attorneys that work there. This link is pretty typical (they're out of NYC)

You do not have to be an MD to do MED MAL. You have to be a lawyer. Take lots of science as an undergrad, and math as well. Philosophy won't hurt either. Then go to Law School. Read about Medical Malpractice and then hire on to a firm to get the experience.
