On Facebook, What Does "friend Request Pending" Mean?

i sent some friend requests to some people on facebook, and when i go to my friends page, right next to their names, it says "friend request pending". just out of curiousity, what does mean when its "pending"?

It means that they haven't accepted your request yet. You asked them but they did not click to accept yet.

It means they have yet to accept your friend request. If you want to - you can remind them by sending them a PM.

Means they didn't accept it. It just means that they didn't see your request or they didn't make a decision to accept or not. ketty 51 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment. Friends requests pending usually means the requests are waiting to be approved or rejected i.e no decisions have been made on them yet. Funny thing though is I get this notification for incoming friend requests i.e people who have requested to be my friend and not vice versa

It just means that they didn't see your request or they didn't make a decision to accept or not.

The friend requested on Facebook must approve the request. And the "pending" means that they haven't approved it yet. I finally clicked on that link(i.e., finally noticed it) on my Facebook page and was astonished at the number of friend requests collected there. The overwhelming majority were folks I didn't know at all. And I've no idea how long those requests were there before I found them and began deleting them.
