South texas Spill over..........?

Postby erwin » Sun Jul 29, 2012 6:01 am

Im a citizen that lives in a border town down in the south texas, to be specific in the south texas valley.. people say that we as residents of the "valley" there is NO Drug related violence. No Need for more border security. Thats the words that Ms. Napolitano said but us the people that live in this ares we can say that our lives are at risk. there is alot of traffic, from running drugs to illigal aliens. but my question is to all those peiple that dont live in the south texas area. i want to know and a opinion in what can the local Law enforcemnet do to handle this type pf situations. what we as the citizens can do. also what can the border patrol can do. what can we improve to make us feel safer. living in a border town is a very serious situation. i just want an opinion in what can we do and and what is your opinion about this topic. Drug related spill over.

Hey! I live in the RGV too! I agree with you in the fact that there IS indeed something going down here and it is dangerous. Some people up north don't have any idea what is going on. My sister lives between Houston and Dallas and she has no idea. The things that are going on in Mexico are affecting us in many ways. It's very scary and I don't feel safe whatsoever. Whoever says its not dangerous here is lying because they don't want to scare away tourists. Many of my acquaintances have been kidnapped by these people. This is the stuff that's not out there. This needs to stop. This drug war needs to stop.

If there are residents in Texas who DON'T know that south Texas and "the valley" are dangerous, they must have their heads buried in the sand. It is in Houston newspapers all the time. It might not spell it out, but with the news, a reader that is awake can read between the lines and KNOW it affects you guys.

What can you do? Keep contacting your state of Texas legislature. Email the Texas governor, the Lt. governor, your representatives, etc. In fact, make an email list and email EVERY legislator in Texas. Contact the Texas representatives in the Washington D.C. The more people that contact them, the more your voice will be heard.

One person might not be able to make much difference, but one person stepping up and saying "ENOUGH" is often times what it takes to get things moving.
