Two Speeding Tickets Two Minutes Apart!?

Postby hardin » Thu Jul 26, 2012 2:48 am

Hi, I got caught going past a speed camera at 45mph, then back the opposite way at 49mph TWO MINUTES APART. It's a 30 zone, and my license is clean previous to this. Is there anything I can do to get it lowered or classed as one offence? Also, how would I go about trying to do a speed awareness course instead?
Only people with genuine information please, no 'do-gooder' thinking he's never gone above the speed limit please. I know the law so I don't need some pretentious idiot preaching it to me.

Thanks in advance guys..

You should be able to get the charges combined. You may be able to do traffic school for a first offense

If you want genuine information how about saying where this happened? The laws are different everywhere.

Call the court to see if you can take defensive driving/traffic school to get one of them dismissed. While you're on the line ask them if you can get the other dismissed by asking for a defrred adjudication (da). If the judge gives you da, he'll put you on probation for a while and if you get another ticket while on probation, you'll be found guilty on the second ticket.

No, you can not have them combined.
There was a direction change that required you to come to some sort of stop or intentional slowing of the vehicle to make the u-turn and proceed in the opposite direction.

Courts don't care about "clean driving records," because they know everybody breaks traffic laws. The odds just finally caught up with you.

If you "know the law," then why are you asking such a stupid question?

Look into your states opinion on traffic cameras. Some states have outlawed them on them being unconstitutional. Yea Yea I know they still use them...Traffic courts are a sham.. A Supreme Court Judge (sorry can't remember which one, just smoked a blunt) But he said "for him that will be deceived...let him" The Judge was referring to personal jurisdiction with regards to the legal corporate "person's" Trademark( in CAPITOL LETTERS) (with an assemblage of letters similar to what your mother calls you) that is listed on a certificate issued by the state on or near the date of your birth. Your person is listed on your drivers license also. Agreeing that you are actually him gets you in all kinds of trouble....OK maybe I'm a "do gooder" I know for a fact you can get out of a 146 mph speeding ticket simply by knowing the law and doing gooder.

I do not know what alternative programs are available in your state or city. As for plea bargaining, you can always try. I do not know the habits of the prosecutor in your city.
