I think that technology is not the planet for dialogue about arguments, which includes when living really begins. I think that if folks are really worried about enhancing and preserving the lives of people who are alive these days, they'd determine the positive aspects that might come from stem-cell research. Occasionally, it really is a matter of selecting to aid research that may well heal Grandmother's cancer or Alzheimer, and compromise something that could or may not need to have converted into an infant later in the future. Perhaps we ought to concentrate on enhancing the caliber of existing lifestyles, in the location of getting a lot more life in to the a international that provides achievable anguish and nausea for them.

What Do You Think Of The Use Of Stem Cells In Medical Research?

Postby Weifield » Wed Jan 15, 2014 7:19 am

It seems to me the primary argument against stem cells is that the most productive lines come from fetuses. Considering that I'm pro-selection and pro-medical study, I don't see any issues with developing stem cells to learn cures or even create replacement organs. This is not an problem like cloning, exactly where there are prospective NEW ethical concerns associated to the creation of actual human beings, or genetic engineering, which has some of the same problems. Honestly, it puzzles me that the men and women who protest stem cell use don't also protest organ replacement. That getting stated, I can see the point of view of people who want to cease a slippery slope towards human instrumentality. Nevertheless, that's a philosophical debate with a sensible resolution thousands of infertile couples have left the planet with hundreds of thousands of frozen fertilized embryos. Maybe that was a mistake, but why waste them. It is specifically the very same as organ donors whose subsequent of kin agree for them.

What Do You Think Of The Use Of Stem Cells In Medical Research?

I think that the good far outweighs the bad in the use of stem cells I think that science is not the realm for discussion about spiritual arguments, such as when life truely begins. I think that if people are honestly concerned about saving and improving the lives of people who are alive today, they would recognize the benefits that can come from stem cell research. Sometimes, it's a matter of choosing to support research that might cure Grandma's cancer or Alzheimer, and sacrifice something that may or may not have turned into a baby later down the road. Perhaps we should focus on improving the quality of existing lives, rather than bringing more life into the a world that offers potential sickness and misery for them. A lot of people thing that stem cell research is going to lead to some sort of attack on the woman's womb, which I don't think it will. That said, the development of procedures involving stem cells could be an amazing thing for the world. I could even see things snowballing into new areas of research due knew knowledge that we garner from the stem cell research. I'm for it, but only if it doesn't get out of control, and become that whole "in the name of science" like south park made fun of.
