What does this mean: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a corporation...?

Postby tredway » Mon Apr 04, 2011 8:45 pm

Can someone please tell me what this exactly means:

We currently rent a home adn was told by our landlord a few weeks ago, that we need to move because he sold the house. Is this what this is saying... (When found it on google, when we search our address)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a corporation by the name of Immanuel Randolph General Contractor, Inc., has filed its Articles of Incorporation with the Pennsylvania State Department and has been organized under the provisions of the Business Corporation Law of 1988, the Act of December 21, 1988, P.L. 1444, as amended.

Well, that paragraph merely states that someone has properly registered a corporation in the state of Pennsylvania, that's all, and it has little, or no, bearing on your arrangement with your landlord.

If you have a lease, your landlord may not just kick you out whenever he feels like it. That lease is a binding contract, and he must follow the provisions of it, and it is ALSO binding on the new owner, too!

If you have no lease, then start packing, 'cause he can kick you out in that case, although the law probably states that he must give you at least 60-90 days to find new accommodations.

Good luck!... ?
