What will happen on December 21, 2012?

Postby reuben29 » Sun Mar 04, 2012 6:39 am

Seven a.m., waking up in the morning
Gotta be fresh, gotta go downstairs
Gotta have my bowl, gotta have cereal
Seein' everything, the time is goin'
Tickin' on and on, everybody's rushin'
Gotta get down to the bus stop
Gotta catch my bus, I see my friends (My friends)

What will happen on December 21, 2012?

1. Nope. There is nothing anywhere to indicate that Dec 21, 2012 is going to be different than any other winter day.
2. Nope. No substantiated evidence in scriptures or anywhere else. Purely the product of conspiracy theorists.
3. Nope. Again, no substantiated evidence in scriptures or anywhere else. But it is a good way to make money when you make films about the event.
4. Nope. Again, no substantiated evidence in scriptures or anywhere else.

Christians apparently do not follow Jesus Christ (though they claim they do). Jesus taught that no man will know the date or time of his second coming and yet these people all claim some miraculous knowledge about the event.

The December 21, 2012, date is based upon the end of the long-count Mayan calendar system. Keep in mind that the Mayan peoples never disappeared, neither at the time of the Classic period decline nor with the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors and the subsequent Spanish colonization of the Americas. Today, the Maya and their descendants form sizable populations throughout the Maya area and maintain a distinctive set of traditions and beliefs that are the result of the merger of pre-Columbian and post-Conquest ideas and cultures.

Scholars familiar with the Mayan calendar system say that the Mayans looked forward to the end of the calendar the same way we look forward to the end of our calendar -- a time for great celebration (New Year's Eve and Day).

Take a deep breath and repeat after me: "The world is not going to end in 2012. The world is not going to end in 2012. The whole 'end of the world' thing is a hoax to make money."

Now go enjoy the rest of the year.

What will happen on December 21, 2012?

In my part of the world it will probably be a bit chilly - maybe some snow on the ground. A typical day in the mid-west in other words.

Seriously, read scripture. Jesus so so so clearly said no one, no man, no one knows the day or the hour of his return. No.One. Not the Mayans, not me, not you. No.one.

Wishing you well.

Easy, that's the Winter Solstice. The day will be the shortest one of the year and starting the next morning every day will get longer until June 21st - the longest day of the year.

What the fear mongers aren't telling you, aside from the fact that fear sells papers, books, movies and television ad slots, is that the Myan calendar is based on cycles. Asking what happens when one runs to the end is akin to asking what happens when the hands on a clock reach 11:59:59.

It will be the Winter Solstice in the northern hemisphere, and the Summer one in the south. So, it will be the shortest day of the year in the north, and the longest in the south.

That's pretty much it. There will likely be a flurry of last minute Christmas shoppers, as, being a Friday, stores will be open late.

None of the other stuff you mentioned, which is all imaginary anyway.

The world will not end in 2012. It will end via Armageddon. We know that Armageddon will not happen in 2012 before the Bible tells us that there will be a global government for seven years before Christ returns. Since there hasn't been a global government on this Earth for seven years we can conclude that the world will not end in 2012. Signs of Armageddon include the Holocaust, the return of Israel, and a sudden increase of knowledge.
