Why are so many people scared of Sharia?

I used to be afraid of this Sharia Law and Muslim terrorists but then I researched what it was all about. It turns out they are against gay marriage just like I am and they like traditional marriage and the family structure. Also the male is the head of the household and there is no politically correct feminism there.

Also almost everybody believes in God or at least does not admit otherwise and there are no militant Liberals who mock people's beliefs. Also they teach about their God in schools just like I want to to teach Intelligent Design. Religion also rules the country so people have morals and family values in places like Saudi Arabia and Iran.

Now if there was a Christian version of all this, it would be great!

I doubt very much that living in Saudi Arabia under Sharia (even for a man) is as much fun as you think it would be.

Even as conservative as you are, you have no idea how ultra conservative, harsh and stifling Sharia is. Just one day without the freedoms you grew up with and you'd be begging on your knees for the way it was before Sharia.

May be Christians are afraid of Islamic Shariah Laws because they commit nearly all sins that Islam prohibits and may punish them like women have to dress modestly and can't show their body in half naked way by shorts, bikinis on beaches and swimming pool in front of men, alcohol drinking, women solicit sex in main roads in large cities, pre-marital sex and adultery is daily norm and there is no punishment if they both have sex with consent and not a rape. Murders are rarely killed for taking life of others and instead they are made burden on tax payers, prisons in USA are so full that they are telling Judges not to send people who commit misdemeanors etc, thieves are given punishment of few months to a year prison where there is no hard labor for them, they have right to complain against prison staff if they do not get good bed, proper food and time for exercise and participation in sport or getting books from library to read. Instead drugs are brought into prisons for them.

Mostly Muslims are not asking for Shariah laws for all western people of Christian country. They ask government to enforce Shariah laws on Muslim population of the country. Britain had good experience of peace and control of crimes in all Muslim countries when they ruled on Middle East, and India. Muslims only want to see their own people (Muslims) do not commit sins and crimes.
Islam believes that if a Muslim is punished by Shariah Laws told by God in Quran, then they become like innocent after getting punished in this life. They do not get punishment in hell and can be entered in Heaved for their good deeds and practicing Islam in their life when they reform themselves.

Being against gay marriages and stoning someone to death because he is gay are two different things. Sharia is a barbaric law which sanctions killing by stoning, cutting off limbs, killing of non-muslims, a man marrying four times, no rights for women, etc. Your research probably centres around the muslim version.
