Why do people over react when people have a baby without being married?

Why do people over react when people have a baby without being married?

Postby osmont » Fri Jul 27, 2012 5:42 pm

I personally think it's such a stupid reason to get angry at. Like on here when someone asking a question and they say boyfriend. Then people go crazy calling them sl*gs and what not. I don't see what it's got to do with them. There's no law against it. It's an old fashioned thing that hardly anyone follows anymore so why do people care about others doing it. Especially a stranger online!! How sad.

That's like my grandfather too. I think it's just peoples personal beliefs. Times are different and people don't run to get married because they worry about divorce. The problem I think is people don't stick it out in marriage anymore. Anything that goes wrong they run to the door.

Why do people over react when people have a baby without being married?

"Old fashioned?" "Hardly anyone"? It may shock you to know that MOST children in the U.S. are born to married parents, and many others are born to adults in long-term, committed relationships.

When people 'over-react' it's usually because the person asking the question is a teenager wanting to have a baby with her boyfriend ... not a 30 year old who has been living in a committed relationship with her partner for 10 years, and now wants to have a child together.

And statistically, teen moms are FAR more likely to end up in poverty and on public assistance, and raising the child without any help or input from the father. Which is bad for everyone ... even strangers online.

People get nervous when other people do things outside of the ordinary. I understand people worrying about the baby possibly growing up without a Mom or a Dad because the couple could break up, but it's really not as bad as people make it seem.

Probably because before your married there is no real guarantee of a commitment. People probably react that way because they don't believe in sex before marriage, and having a baby is flaunting it around. Unlike keeping it hidden which would be more admirable.

Thats really bad abt having a baby before marriage cuz the baby wont have a perfect dad or mom, cuz they really don't know what it really means abt family values... after all, its abt to everyone's own prespective...
