We own a small car detail place and the State just showed up and is going to charge us a $100 day, until we have it. We have 2 part time workers. This is a seasonal business.

Massachusetts si one of the strictest states regarding WC. ALL employers must have WC Insurance that covers ALL employees. It doesn't matter how many hours they work, whether the work is seasonal, part time, etc. The only employers who have an "except" are domestic employees (like maids or nannies), who have to work at least 16 hours per week in order to be required to be covered.

Make sure you post the WC information, too- Massachusetts fines for not posting as well.

Good luck! :0)
