Does The Landlord/tenant Legislation Affect Tenants Hiring Areas?

Does The Landlord/tenant Legislation Affect Tenants Hiring Areas?

Hi, I've a problem and some issues regarding my situation.I presently rent an area within an owner-occupied home in Chicago, IL (along w/ 3 additional pupils). I sadly was not provided an opportunity to study and evaluate the lease before moving-in (LL did not give me the lease until each day after I shifted). I've lately have slipped upon some very difficult instances and have not yet paid rent for this month. Our landlord advised me that there surely is a late charge of $50 daily beginning following the 1st (this really is described in the rent). I was also informed that, if I desire to transfer out, I should locate a substitute or lose my safety deposit, regardless the health of the area or if I still owe rent or not.my LL has threatened legal action if I'm not out by Sunday and might have suggested she'd toss my material outso my problem is, does the Illinois landlord/tenant legislation affect my scenario (I understand it says a LL can not ask for significantly more than $10/month in overdue costs for rent under $500.). what option do I've in this case?

Thats very state specific as to if room rents count under L-T laws--but very often they do--in your shoes-look up IL's L-T laws to see if your situation is "covered."My guess is your LT is way to aggressive in tersm of what she thinks she can lawfully do.

If you really browse the entire link you submitted, it says, right at the very top, that:>If you live-in Chicago, the Ordinance controls your tenancy unless you stay in: An owner-occupied building containing less than eight flats; A lodge, motel, inn, rooming house, or boarding house (unless you've existed there for more than 31 days and pay rent on a regular schedule); or
