Retaliation After Eeoc ?

Postby Armen » Wed May 14, 2014 6:50 pm

I was a very good employee. Fired for familiar situation. Filed charges with EEOC. Before charges, my employer was denying that I worked for them; now he is giving me the worst references as he treathened that he will make sure that I wont get another job in the US. I had excellent interviews but after reference check I get no job. I am desesperate. What should I do?

Retaliation After Eeoc ?

Postby Bronsson » Thu May 15, 2014 7:36 pm

My husband did not work at the company. I informed my boss that there was no need to worry anymore about my husband because I was getting the court order against him. Few hours later I was terminated. Firing a women for being in this situation is against public policy; state of IL enacted a bill to mitigate the devastating long term consequences of domestic violence. Additionally, male employees have been involved in court proceedings against each other and were not terminated.

sex discrimination since similarly situated male mployees (in court proceedings against each other) were never dismissed. National origyn discrimination because I am from South America and except 3 other employees; one american, one chinese and another from South America, the rest of the employees are all from a specific Eastern country. I was dismissed with malice and reckless indiference to federally protected rights.Thank you for your interest.

You were fired because you wanted to get a court protection order against your husband? Did your husband work for this same employer? How would your employer know the details? Are you sure that was the reason they terminated you?I know it sounds like your employer was wrong to do this, but I am also thinking that he/she has not broke any discrimination laws, as it sounds like their reasons are not part of protected class reasons.

What does that have to do with the EEOC?

Thank's for addressing. Yes you're really intelligent, main language is Spanish. Household scenario indicates my spouse abused my kid and that I needed to consider him out-of his reach. I'd to record to authorities and DCFS. Organization didn't need me to visit courtroom to obtain purchase of safety against him, plus they dismissed me. I worked each morning and was dismissed within the morning when planning to visit judge. I submitted charges after being fired.

"...state-of Illinois passed a statement to offset the disastrous long haul effects of domestic violence..."Illinois may be the ONLY suggest that includes a common regulation prohibiting discrimination against patients of domestic violence, sexual attack, or harassment. Since it is state-regulated in my opinion you'd contact a state company, not the EEOC.

The above statement was too general: For the record, California, Colorado, Connecticut are the states which have laws that prohibit employers from firing or retaliating against domestic or sexual violence victims in *certain circumstances.* And, it would be the same procedure (i.e., contacting the state agency.)

I'm wondering you talk Spanish like a local language. "Common" includes a distinct meaning in Spanish than in English. In Spanish this means household-related. "We've a common connection" might show we're of the exact same family. In Language this means that individuals understand one another, or perhaps a person understands a well known fact or perhaps a factor. "We're acquainted with each other" means we're buddies, or we all know each other. You stated "Dismissed for common scenario". Does which means that you had been dismissed for something which needs to do together with your household or even the chef' household?

Is it possible to give a a bit more quality for your scenario? Exactly what does?Dismissed for common scenario? mean? Were you voluntarily in a connection with another worker or boss? Had you documented a criticism for your company before you had been ended? Did you delay to document costs with EEOC once you were ended or before you had been ended?
