A husband used to send obscene email to an unknown entity by opening a email in her wife's name.Is it a punish?

the husband innocently sent some obscene email to an unknown email by opening a fake Id in the name iof his wife.The e-mail contained some objectionable reference to wife.However, the identity of receiver is unknown.Can a case for defamation be filed by wife?
