A police officer gave me a speeding ticket, when I saw the ticket he wrote it wrong it had my license number wrong it also had the wrong expiration date and he also wrote the date month and year for my birthday. Can this ticket be thrown out cause its obvious he has no clue on how to write down people personal information and it also makes me wonder if I was really speeding I have had a ticket for 3 years!

Go to court you might get the ticket dismissed, either because of the errors or if the officer does not show up, but chances are you will have to pay.

Unlikely. Typo errors on the ticket usually don't result in a dismissal- all that usually happens is that the court issues a new ticket with the correct information. Courts don't care about technicalities like misspelled names as much as people think- you need to prove that you were not actually speeding. Multiple errors might get a court to dismiss it, but don't hold your hopes.

Its worth a challenge - if it was a typo that would explain one or two but there are too many to let it slide - I would contest it.

The ticket has to be beyond reasonable doubt, - the number of errors do give rise to doubt - I would also state I am not convinced I was speeding either.

I encourage you to try that excuse with the judge.

I'm SURE he will see it your way.

You can attempt that argument, but there's a 99.9% chance that it won't work.

The errors on the citation are not material to the case against you. How does the expiration date have anything to do with whether you're guilty of speeding or not?

Immaterial changes can be amended to the ticket at any time, including during your hearing.

So when you stand in front of the judge and say "The officer got this stuff wrong, I think this ticket should be dismissed", two things will happen:

1. The officer will correct the mistakes while you're all standing there.
2. The judge will say "So you're not saying you weren't speeding, you're just saying that these errors should negate your offense? Guilty."

Its not as easy as it used to be but it never hurts to try cause nothing gained is nothing lost.
