Am I legally obligated to pay rent if landlord has filed Chapter 7 and unit is currently in foreclosure?

In June, I signed a lease w/a private owner of a condo. I recently was informed by the owner and a certified letter on my door that landlord has filed Chapter 7 to halt the for closure on the unit. After doing research, the unit was scheduled to sell on the court steps on October 5th which happens to be the same date she filed for bankruptcy which subsequently halted the for closure proceedings. I also just found out the owner owes HOA over &14k. So, my question is am I still obligated by law to pay rent since she obviously never paid mortgage or should I wait to hear from the trustee?

YOu absolutely have to pay rent.

The 2 contacts are not related. You may receive a court order to pay the courts, but until then you pay the landlord/

What the owner's financial obligations are and how she manages her business is not your problem. You are required to pay your rent as long as you live there and if the house is foreclosed on you can stay until the end of your lease. Her debt to the HOA is none of your business also. If you dont want to pay rent, you must give your 30 day notice. If the condo is foreclosed on you will get notified.

Oh yes, you still have to pay rent or either move. As long as you live there you pay, no questions asked.
