Anyone able to help with college plans?

University of Alabama
Major - Either Econ or History (choose whichever you think would be best for an aspiring corporate lawyer)
Minor - Philosophy

It seems that Pre-Law is actually a pretty bad choice for people wanting to go to law school, so I'm thinking the things above. What I need is 1) a choice between history and econ since I don't know which would be more important and 2) suggested classes. It doesn't need to be perfect since this is just for a project detailing my plans for the next 5 years (high school senior year, then college). If anyone can point me to a listing of classes online or say what you took if your plan was similar, that would be extremely helpful.

I have graduated from a top-ten law school and practiced law.

My undergraduate major was history and I found that it taught similar critical reading, thinking, and writing skills as those used in the study and practice of law.

I took a corporate law class in law school and found that no economics background was required. Corporate law has much more to do with regulatory interpretation than theoretical economics.

The most useful undergraduate classes for law school are US history, English history 1066-1900, and English composition.

Do an engineering or science degree. Try physics out.

Economics is a good prepartion for Law School or Business School. And, if you eventually decide that law school isn't what's for you, you can actually get a job with an Econ degree. With a History degree, you almost have to go to grad school to do anything as a profession like teaching, law, etc. Or, I guess with an undergrad History degree you will be prepared to work in either the food service or retail industries. Wait, you are already qualified to do that.

Info on economics

Make sure this is something you think you will like. See if your HS offers AP Microeconomics and AP Macoeconomics. My son is taking those classes and like them a lot,
