Are activists going to be outraged illegal to prison but he has wife, 2 children & his brother, and his brother's friend, separation of families ?Jun. 20--Edgar Lizarraga-Beltran, 24, of Parma was sentenced Friday to 12 years in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine and possessing firearms in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, the U.S. Attorney's Office reported.
U.S. District Judge Edward J. Lodge also ordered Lizarraga to serve five years of supervised release following his prison term. Lizarraga, an illegal alien, will be deported after he serves his prison term. Lizarraga pled guilty to the charges in March.
On the morning of Sept. 8, 2008, police responded to a shooting at a Parma house where Lizarraga was living with his wife, two children, his brother, and his brother's friend. Police soon discovered that, earlier that morning, several unknown persons had attempted to break into Lizarraga's house. A shoot-out between the burglars, Lizarraga, his brother, and his brother's friend followed. Lizarraga's brother and his brother's friend were shot, and his brother died shortly afterward.
During the investigation, police discovered that Lizarraga had been selling methamphetamine. They also learned that Lizarraga's house had been robbed at gunpoint earlier and that the robbers had taken about $20,000 generated by Lizarraga and others from drug sales. Lizarraga did not notify police of this robbery, but rather obtained three guns for protection. Those guns were later used in the September shoot-out.
The case was investigated by the Idaho State Police, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and several local law enforcement agencies.......
