I own a red CBR 250. As I've researched, you can't have red light showing from the front-center of the bike or red strobe lighting. I would like to install solid red LED accent lighting on the side fairing cavities not directly visible from the front. Needless to say, for use while riding. As suggested online, I'm planning on printing out the DOT laws concerning lighting and getting an approval statement from a local county Sheriff. Does anyone have experience they can share (from TX)? Will this be enough to stave off tickets?

In Texas red lights, may be visible from the rear only.
Emergency vehicles use red lights visible from the front and sides.
You will most likely get a ticket, you can not get permission from a sheriff.
