Are there any laws pharmacist have to abide by in order for patients to privacy in regards to medications? ?

Postby motega » Fri Nov 18, 2011 3:20 pm

I went to my school pharmacy to pick up my meds, and the pharmacist completely embarrassed me by speaking very loudly about the medications I was picking up. She even stated what the medications were for . There were many people in the student health center who heard and now know about my medical condition, including someone I have class with everyday. I called to complain as soon as I left, but want to know if I should take further action to ensure
This does not happen again. Thanks!

You can take further action. Medical records are confidential, even courts and police can not see them with out a warrant.
