As westerners are we in our right to shun the extreme aspects of the Sharia law?

For example the stoning to death of women, persecution of homosexuals, and death sentence for adultery under Islamic religion? This clearly breaches basic human rights for those persecuted and even westerners travelling to some of these countries have been subject to such laws. And does it work both ways? Do we comply with their religious views in the hope that they too comply with ours? And is this the case? I've heard of Islamic families having children in Western countries and the child being integrated into western society and when they are grown enough to make their own choices are beaten to death by their family as honourary killings. Surely integrating into Western society should allow the benefits and freedom that comes with living in the West? Unlike Westerners going to Dubai and being thrown into jail for holding hands with loved ones in public. Or again is this all scare mongering from the media? Many, many questions!!
